Genevieve Osborne

Poet of the Month – June

Genevieve is a Sydney writer. She holds a Master of Letters in Creative Writing from the University of Sydney. Her poems have appeared in Blue Dog: Australian Poetry, Five Bells: Landscape Poetry, Island, Meanjin, Southerly, the Henry Kendall Award Anthology 2008, Leaving the Bow and in The Disappearing, an app by The Red Room Company. Her haiku were scrolled across the Optus Message Board, Federation Square in the Overload Poetry Festival and she has also taken part in Renga in Cordite: Haikunaut Island Renga 1 and 2, Zombie Haikunaut Renga I and II, and Zombies in the Fields.

Genevieve was joint winner of the Henry Lawson Prize for Poetry, runner-up in the Gwen Harwood Poetry Prize and won the Inner City Life Poetry Prize. She received Highly Commended, Commended and an Honourable Mention in the Inverawe Poetry Prize.
